Studio Etiquette

  •  Sign up in advance for classes on the website. It’s okay to just show up to class every once in a while, but try to make it a habit to sign up in advance.

  • Arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the start of class so you can get situated with your space and props.

  • Keep your personal belongings in the cubbies so we can keep the studio space clear during class.

  • The door to the studio will be locked at the beginning of class. Please do not knock on the door to be let in if you are late.

  • Do not wear any strong perfumes, scented lotions or essential oils to class to be mindful of those who might be sensitive to smells.

  • Plan to stay for the entire duration of class. If you have to leave early, let the teacher know in advance and try to find a space close to the door so you can leave without disturbing others.

  • Turn your cell phone on Do Not Disturb during class. If you need to have your cell phone ringer on, let the teacher know you that you might be expecting a call. No photos or videos during class.

  • Let your teacher know if you have any physical restrictions, injuries or preferences.

  • Clean any borrowed mats or props at the end of class, cleaning products will be provided for you.

If there is anything at all we can help with please don’t hesitate to reach out to the studio. We want your experience at Wahi Hoʻōla to feel safe and comfortable.

FAQ’s

Where is Wahi Hoʻōla Yoga + Wellness located?
You can find all the contact and location information on our contact page.

Is the building ADA accessible?
Unfortunately, no. We are on the second floor of a building that has no elevator. Please plan to be able to walk up a flight of stairs to get into the studio.

Do I need to be flexible to do yoga?
Absolutely not. You come to yoga classes to access new ranges of motion in your body, but more flexibility isn’t always the goal, depending on your body. Your teachers will be able to help you figure out how to modify postures the best way for your body.

What should I wear to class?
Exercise clothes that fit comfortably close to your body. If clothing is too loose, it might be prone to wardrobe malfunctions 😉

I’m pregnant, can I do yoga?
Of course! Just make sure to let your teacher know that you’re expecting and how far along you are so they can help you with modifications. In general, you don’t want to do any closed twists, inversions, or postures where you lie flat on your belly, and you’ll probably need to do any forward folding with your legs farther apart than normal.

What if I can’t afford the studio membership, can I still join the studio?
You will never be turned away because of an inability to pay. Please reach out to us if this is the case, so we can work something out.

How do I cancel my membership?
Please call, text, or email the studio to cancel your membership. As long as you have passed the three month minimum, we will cancel the membership right away. Know that you can always put a hold on your membership if you’re going away for an extended period or just need a break. See our full cancellation policy here.

What classes are best for beginners?
Our favorite beginners classes are our Yoga Basics classes. If you’re brand new to yoga, check out this page for everything you need to know.

Do you offer refunds?
We offer refunds only for services and classes that have not yet been rendered. If you have taken a class or received a massage and are unhappy and would like a refund, please reach out to us so we can try to rectify the situation.

Do you have showers?
Unfortunately our shower is temporarily unavailable for use. In lieu of a shower, we offer complimentary rinse-free bath sponges if you need to clean off after a class.

What if I have to cancel my class reservation at the last minute?
We totally understand that things come up at the last minute and simply ask that you cancel your class reservation as soon as you know you won’t be able to make it, up to at least one hour before class begins. We do not charge a late cancellation fee, however, we want to be fair and give everyone a chance to attend the classes that work for their schedules, so cancel as early as possible so people on the waitlist have a chance to join. You will have to contact the studio to cancel within an hour of the class or workshop, and refunds are not offered if you cancel within the 1-hour window.
